Built on a Forged Match Grade Vintage Pre-Ban Entreprise Arms Buena Park Receiver, an Aussie L1A1 F1 Self-Loading Rifle. Because of the manner we developed it, this gun is extremely accurate. Our clients claim that our melonited barrels fire like lasers; but, because this is not a typical FAL/L1A1 rifle, you cannot ask ordinary FAL/L1A1 builders about it because they have no knowledge of it.

With a factory magazine and original Lithgow Coachwood furniture, this rifle is fully 922R compliant.
Chambered for M118LR Sniper Ammunition, this barrel has a 1 in 10 twist rate.
In all Bullet Grain weights, it uses NATO or Commercial Brass.
Military barrels had a 1 in 12 twist and were chambered for the M80 ball.

Because of the increased rigidity provided by the meloniting, our barrels have a completely different barrel harmonic than standard FAL/L1A1. When paired with the redesigned barrel harmonic, the F1 Muzzle Brake on our barrel is extremely accurate.

With the shortest overall rifle length and the New F1 Muzzle brake, which decreases kick and muzzle rise, the F1 was the pinnacle of L1A1 development. This new muzzle brake not only reduced barrel length, but it also enhanced barrel harmonics by lowering the amplitude of the whip when firing.
This firearm comes with all of the available upgrades.

All of the remaining components are in fantastic condition and have been refurbished in our shop. The rifle has been tested and is ready to use right out of the box; all you need to do now is add ammunition.

With all of the recent threads on the FAL, I though I’d start one with photos of a Commonwealth “inch” pattern L1A1. It started out as a Century Arms UK kit in 1993 or thereabouts. I returned two kits before receiving one that satisfied my requirements. While the barrel and furniture were excellent, many of the minor components were in poor condition. I began purchasing replacement parts for the “bits and pieces,” but they were all manufactured in Australia. When EAI was airing those adverts in SGN, the receiver was acquired. It was created when EAI was still a small corporation in Buena Park, California.

Later, I found an NIW Aussie barrel from The Dealer Warehouse for $150.00 (IIRC). Entreprise Arms eventually finished it for me.

I put in a supply when TAPCO got all those new Aussie Parts. Finally, I decided “screw it” and installed an NIW coachwood buttstock and pistol grip on the rifle, which was otherwise entirely Australian (except for the American Receiver and compliance components, of course). Because new handguards are nearly impossible to come by, I had to settle for a secondhand pair that I partially repaired with mild sanding and oven cleaning. The metal has been left in the same state as when I found it. I’ll remove, media blast, park, and paint if I can find some original aluminum rivets. They’ll just end up adding character to the rifle if they don’t.
I finally located the steel band that fits around the rubber eyepiece on the optical a few months ago.

so that it remains on I tried gluing the rubber on, but it only lasted a couple of days.
Over the years, I’ve been close to selling her a half-dozen times but have always opted against it. I’m glad, because she’s a joy to photograph. I prefer the M14 over the L1A1, but when using the L2A2 Trilux, it shoots 1.25 MOA with the ball, so she’s a keeper.
That UK kit is presently in the process of receiving a “UK cut” receiver. L1A1s can be addicting, so if you get one, be careful because “one” might not be enough.
The arrival of the first Europeans, immigrant settlers, and the development of the early trading settlement; Singapore’s subjection to Crown administration when the East India Company’s charter lease expired and the Company closed its doors; the brief period of military occupation under the Japanese Sphere of Asiatic Co-Prosperity; and the rising post-World War II tide of nationalism are all important milestones in Singapore’s history. To what extent may the archaeological record provide a separate dimension to these established milestones, in addition to historical data of the past tracking the island’s rise into a commercial center?

Thousands of cartridge cases, bullets, army equipment, clothing fragments, Native American artifacts, and skeletal remains of troops who died on June 25, 1876 were discovered at the site. The computer-assisted examination of artifact distribution on the battlefield provided insight into how warring factions used the terrain. The thousands of recovered rounds were subjected to a firearms identification examination, which added to our understanding of the firearm’s role in the combat. Most crucially, the archaeological excavation revealed in great detail how the Native American opponents outnumbered, outgunned, and outfought Colonel George Cluster’s 7th Cavalry.

The archaeological investigation at Fort Tanjong Katong sparked interest in Fort Serapong (2004-2005).ik
Both forts had a pair of Elswick Vickers Armstrong 8 inch breech loading guns at one stage in their evolution, which were not typical British coast defense artillery pieces. In 1885, four similar 8-inch cannons were erected in Singapore, and the lack of any archaeological remains relating to their position at Tanjong Katong prompted inquiries into the only other installation that housed them Fort Serapong.
The history of Fort Serapong was known primarily on a few historical records and eyewitness tales of the location. We used well-known sources.

The fort’s function as the command headquarters for Blakang Mati during the struggle for Singapore in 1942 had also been overlooked. Fort Serapong was to be tested in the Battle for Singapore during WWII, and the research of the fort may help to our understanding of Singapore’s military history.
Fort Serapong did not exist in a vacuum; it was intertwined with the rest of Singapore’s fortifications. Its fire range was designed to provide overlapping coverage when used in conjunction with other batteries. Fort Serapong and Fort Tanjong Katong had the same make and caliber of weapons, making them the only two forts in the British Empire to deviate from the standard coas.

Fort Serapong and its sibling forts were built in response to the perceived danger of rival European powers in the region on a regional and international level. Singapore became the Empire’s most important and largest coaling station in the Far East as a result of the industrial revolution, advances in steamship technology, and the opening of the Suez Canal, not only for the fueling of the Royal Navy but also for the merchant marine, the latter being the lifeline of trade and economics for Singapore, the Strait Settlements, the Dutch East Indies, the Commonwealth, and the British Empire at large.

Prior to the arrival of the Europeans, little is known about Blakang Mati. The term “Blakang Mati,” which means “Death from Behind” or “Behind the Dead” in Malay, is eerily foreboding, possibly adding weight to local legends about pirates.
The legends of pirates may have some truth. A 14th century Chinese trader-traveler wrote about sailing past the navigation point “Long Ya Men” (Dragon Tooth Gate) and into the pirates’ dominions. 9
