“R187101 ussr 7.62x54R / RGUNS carpentersville IL 91/30,” reads the import mark on the receiver’s top.

The Soviet crest is above “1944r / MH5026” above the arrow in a triangle (Izhevsk Arsenal symbol) and other little Soviet stampings on the top of the barrel shank.

A series of poorly struck and overstamped numbers adorn the left side of the chamber, the top series of which looks to correlate to the scope’s serial number. “MH5026” is written on the bottom of the magazine, and an Izhevsk emblem is on the front tang.

“MH5026” is written on the bolt.

Small stampings with the Izhevsk Arsenal insignia are found on the bolt body, barrel bands, and magazine. The stock is embossed.

A two-piece side-mounted scope base is included with the weapon. Two screws and two pins secure the part to the receiver’s side. To keep the primary screws in place, two capture screws are also placed.

The detachable mount is held in place by two vertical rear screws and an enormous screw.

The mount is equipped with two scope rings. The rings are secured to the scope by three top screws.

The rings’ screws have been lightly used. These screws have been used lightly to moderately. A thick post reticle is featured on the fixed 3.5 power scope. The adjusting knobs turn and the glass is clear. “0 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13” is written on the top knob, while “10 5 + 0 – 5 10” is written on the side knob. Scuffs can be seen on the scope base and scope tube.

A straight grip, finger grooves, metal nose caps, cut out for the supplied cleaning rod, two barrel bands, two sling eyelets, through bolt, cut out for the scope base, and a metal buttplate are all features of the two-piece wooden stock.

The stock has been restored, however there are numerous scrapes that have taken away from the original shine.

There are a few minor impact marks, nicks, and mild draglines on the surface.

The comb has the most apparent and heavy impact marks.

At the very top of the handguard, there is a slight crack in the wood grain.

From the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate, the LOP is roughly 13 1/2 inches.

The plate has a few minor nicks and scuffs, as well as some minor wear.

The rifling is rounded but powerful, and the bore is black. Erosion can be found throughout the bore, particularly in the grooves that run parallel to the lands.

The metal finish on this gun is still around 90% intact.

Under the finish on the chamber and receiver, there are a few nicks and impact marks.

Under the finish, there are few streaks and little impact marks on the bottom metal assembly.

The cover of the magazine displays a speckled discolouration.

The finish on the barrel has a few small blemishes.

The majority of the markings are quite deep. In general, this weapon is in Very Good condition.

The action is working well. This firearm has never been fired.
